Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) is a not-for-profit company owned by the City of Edmonton. Its purpose is to increase prosperity and the quality of life for people in the Edmonton region by fostering economic development and marketing Edmonton as a tourist and business destination.
The organization currently manages a Trade and Investment division, Urban Economy division (includes Startup Edmonton, Make Something Edmonton, and Edmonton Research Park), Edmonton Tourism, and the Shaw Conference Centre.
EEDC is also part of a joint venture with the University of Alberta (U of A) called TEC Edmonton, which opens doors for local entrepreneurs, investors, and the U of A research community. The benefits of booking your event with the Shaw Conference Centre expands beyond the event experience itself. As a division of the EEDC family, we are able to provide you with a direct connection to Edmonton Tourism’s vast array of business development services.
Our city’s destination marketing organization can assist you in attracting sponsorship, increasing attendance through their marketing services, room block sourcing with world-class hotels next to our centre, and more.
